LIMESTRONG BUILD LINE
THE LIMESTRONG BUILD™ Pozzolanic Hydraulic Lime (PHL) product line features two primary lime plaster products: Limestrong Build Binder, used to build the scratch and leveling base plaster coats. Binder is a pozzolan + lime binder product only—the plaster sand/aggregate is sourced locally. Limestrong Build Finishes are all-in-one plasters (pozzolan + lime + pumice aggregate) applied as the final coat in a typical three-coat plaster system (use either course or fine finish types) or applied over properly prepared and primed drywall (interior finish type). The Limestrong Color System is designed to be used seamlessly with our Limestrong Build Finish products. Additional products include a limewash mineral paint, a specialized-use bonding fortifier, an interior olive-oil soap protectant, and a hempbinder (for making hempcrete).
Job-sized quantities of Limestrong Build plasters are shipped on pallets via a freight LTL carrier. Please carefully read the Freight and Delivery information document to understand and prepare for the process.
LIMESTRONG BUILD BINDER is sold as a PHL lime binder product only, providing a significant cost savings in shipping for palletized, job-sized quantities. Plaster sand must be sourced locally and mixed with binder to make lime plaster mud to render the (scratch and leveling) base coats.

COVERAGE: LSB Coarse Finish—Coverage per bag at a single-coat maximum application thickness of 1/4" is approximately 50 square feet. LSB Fine Finish—Coverage per bag at a single-coat maximum application thickness of 1/8" is approximately 80 to 100 square feet. LSB Interior Finish—Coverage per bag at a two-coat maximum application thickness of 1/8" TOTAL is approximately 80 to 100 square feet. Our online calculators are available to help determine how many bags of LSB Finish plaster are needed.
APPLICATION GUIDES: A complete selection of guides for surface prep, mixing, applying, and curing LSB plasters is available in the knowledge base section of this site.

LIMESTRONG LIMEWASH is an exterior grade mineral infusion paint. Limewash creates a color-imbued matte finish with a soft, porous feel. Limewash is not a film-forming coating, and does not contain synthetic binders. Rather, it is absorbed into the plaster and becomes part of the render, forming an integral bond that will not flake or peel. Limewash is best suited for light-to-medium colored finishes. Combine with clean water and an (optional) color pigment. Apply minimum of two coats.
—Read about Using Limestrong Limewash (PDF).
PACKAGING: LIMEWASH comes packaged in a 10 lb. bag, enough to make a five-gallon bucket of limewash.
COVERAGE: Coverage rates will vary depending on the texture and openness (tightness of finish) of the surface to which it is applied. A good rule of thumb is one gallon of limewash at two (2) coats will cover 100 square feet.
APPLICATION GUIDES: See LSB Publication: Coloring Plaster with Limewash for complete mixing and application instructions.
COLOR: Limewash can be colored with pigments from the Limestrong Color System.
LIMESTRONG FORTIFIER is a polymer-based lime plaster additive that provides increased bonding over hard-to-bond substrates hard brick, manufactured stone and board forms, building block, cementitious backer board, poured concrete.
PERFORMANCE ADVANTAGES: Limestrong Fortifier makes it easier to bond a lime plaster scratch coat on hard, non-pourous and non-absorbent (closed), or smooth surfaces.
PACKAGING: Limestrong Fortifier ships in a one-pound package.
DOSAGE RATIO: Add fortifier at a rate of 4% by weight of dry binder powder, so for each 50-pound bag of LSB Binder used, dose with 2 packs of fortifier.
USE GUIDE: See LSB Publication: Limestrong Fortifier for complete use instructions.
PRIMER GRIT is a fine-grained pumice aggregate that is mixed into quality latex based or PVA primers. When applying LSB Interior Finish plaster over new drywall, it is necessary to prepare the surface with a gritted primer. The grit provides mechanical key to adhere plaster to the drywall and allows the lime plaster to spread evenly over the primed surface without sliding.
PACKAGING: Limestrong Primer Grit ships in a three-pound package.
DOSAGE RATIO: Add primer grit at a rate of one cup of grit to one gallon of primer. A single bag of primer grit is enough for five gallons of primer.
USE: Stir grit into primer. Apply to drywall surface with a paint roller. Allow to dry 12 hours. See preparation section in LSB Publication: Interior Finish Application Guide.
LIMESTRONG SOAP FINISH is made from a blend of premium olive and coconut oils, our soap concentrate is formulated to seal and protect interior Limestrong finishes, imparting a silky feel.
PACKAGING: Limestrong Soap Finish ships as a concentrate in a one-quart bottle.
DILUTION RATIO: Dilute soap concentrate 8-parts water to 1-part soap—mix a quart of soap concentrate with 2 gallons of water.
COVERAGE: Coverage per gallon of ready-to-apply soap finish is 300 to 400 square feet depending on finish plaster texture and porosity.
USE: Apply over fully-cured interior finish plaster with a paint roller. See the Limestrong Soap Finish Guide for application instructions.
HEMPBINDER IS FORMULATED to mix with industrial hemp hurd to make hempcrete. NOTE: Limestrong provides no customer support (written or direct) for mixing or using hempcrete. Before ordering, please contact a qualified hempcrete expert for functional use information.
PACKAGING: LSB HEMPBINDER comes packaged in 50 lb. bags. HempBinder is mixed with hemp hurd on the job site to make hempcrete.
YEILD: Yield varies depending on thickness of wall and mix ratio formulation. Please contact a qualified hempcrete expert for more information.
